5-Boomer Friday

The latest from PE Teacher and author

David Carney

Greetings PE Nation,

I hope you are doing well. The Florida weather has given us some consistency problems, especially with kindergarten. We're off the entire week putting up shutters and preparing for the worst (hoping and praying for the best). Growing up in Buffalo, NY, we had serious snow days, but this is crazy! Be sure to check out my new and older podcast episodes, including gamification, large group strategies, interviews and more!

Some of the things I share are PE related, and some are not, but they can be if you use your imagination and creativity. Or, if you need a break from all things education, here are a few gems.

I hope you enjoy!

Dave

1-Teaching Strategy

Team builders are the best way to start a school year or any time to get kids moving and collaborating. Plus, they get to know each other and learn how to work as a team for a common goal. My newest podcast focuses on 5 activities to try with your students. Plus, there's a FREE Group Juggling PDF as a bonus in the episode. Give it a listen!

2-Book I'm reading

This is actually my second listen to this book. It's called "American Kingpin" by Nick Bilton. It's a true crime story about a student who created a website on the "dark web" called The Silk Road. He created an empire overnight and things got out of hand quickly. There's a cool movie about this as well. Check it out or take a listen!

3-Documentary to check out

I loved watching Roger Federer's entire career. He was poetry on the tennis court. He was classy, honorable and an incredible champion. This documentary follows him and his family behind the scenes as he was retiring. I'm not going to lie, I got a little teary-eyed knowing I would never see him win Wimbledon again. Definitely a great watch!

4-Awesome thing I've seen or heard

I have no idea how OZ the Mentalist does this! I've seen him do this before, but recently he visited my team, the Buffalo Bills, and blew them away. You've got to see this!

5-Question to ponder

What is one thing you want to achieve in your career? How will you do about doing this?

If you'd like to share this or anything else about your PE program and would like to be a guest on the podcast, fill out the form below.

I hope you've enjoyed this 5-Boomer Friday. Let me know how I can make it more beneficial for you in the future.

5-Boomer Friday!!!

5-Boomer Friday The latest from PE Teacher and author David Carney Greetings PE Nation, I hope you are doing well. The heat index in Florida has been absolutely hurting demolishing my plans for my students. We can't be outside when it hits 104 degrees, which is almost every day. That means a lot of inside instruction for my 3rd grade and kindergarten classes. That means either in the media center or inside their classrooms. It's not a great situation, but we make the best of it for our...
